It has been proven that resistance training can play a significant role in prevention of osteoporosis. Resistance training helps thicken bones as they are put under stress, causing bones to thicken in response so they are able to handle the weight put upon them. From about the age of 30 years our bones start to degenerate causing the bones to thin over a long period of time. By participating in weight bearing exercise on a regular basis, one can prolong the thinning effect and ultimately help prevent the onset of osteoporosis.
